"Recall" at Sherman Theatre     

Choreographer Joanna Young’s new piece Recall at Sherman Theatre
28 February as part of Welsh tour.

Absorbing, playful and emotionally charged, Recall is a remake of Recreating PenGwyn, a production Joanna created in 2012 which will be at Sherman Theatre, Cardiff on Friday 28 February as part of its Welsh tour.

This time round Joanna she is working with a new cast of dancers, many of whom have worked with leading European companies.

Joanna is a talented choreographer, based in Cardiff, whose work is characterised by its detail and its strength in performance and makes absorbing work that often has a strong emotional impact. Joanna’s work is influenced by visual artists. Joanna trained at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance in Leeds and The Place in London. Joanna was also commissioned to create work for Adain Avion, Marc Rees’ epic
project to celebrate contemporary Welsh culture that was part of London 2012 Cultural Olympiad.

Joanna’s beautifully performed work is gaining increasing recognition for its delicacy and richness. Alongside her live productions she makes dance films, creates dance installations and teaches.
