Róisín McBrinn, Associate Director (English Language) will be leaving Sherman Cymru this month following a successful 2 years in post.During her time at Sherman Cymru, Róisín has directed The Get Together by Simon Crowther, the Sherman Cymru / Bristol Old Vic co-production of Kath Chandler’s award-winning play Before It Rains, It’s A Family Affair… (We’ll Settle It Ourselves) and the Christmas shows, Peter Pan and The Sleeping Beauties. Róisín was also instrumental in developing Sherman Swingers an event developing 20 new pieces of work in the course of just one weekend. “Róisín has made a significant and valuable contribution to Sherman Cymru since its re-opening in February 2012 and we would like to express our sincere thanks for her hard work and the energy that she has brought to the building. We wish her the best of luck with her future plans.” David Stacey, Chair of the Board of Trustees Róisín has most recently been working at Sheffield Theatres, directing Niamh Cusack and Sean Gallagher in the critically acclaimed production of Afterplay as part of the Brian Friel Season. Her forthcoming projects include Heartbreak House at the Abbey Theatre this summer. |
