Six new shows on sale for 2014
The New Theatre has today announced six exciting new shows coming to Cardiff. A mix of drama, comedy, dance and high energy musicals means that 2014 is shaping up to be a great year at the popular city centre venue.

Having enjoyed enormous popularity as a much-loved series of books and a television series, the heart-warming tales of country vet James Herriot are coming to the stage in All Creatures Great and Small from Tuesday 10 – Saturday 14 June. Starring Susan Penhaligan (A Fine Romance) and Oliver Mellor (Coronation Street) the play captures the laughter, joy and magic of the original novels and will transport audiences back to a simpler time on the Yorkshire moors.

National treasure Dawn French stars in 30 Million Minutes, which will be stopping off in Cardiff from Wednesday 16 – Friday 18 July. This one woman show will consist of various delights and riches, with the odd irksome tribulation thrown in, as Dawn takes audiences through the various lessons 30 million minutes of life have taught her.

Dance fans are in for a treat with Flash Mob: Where Dance Worlds Collide from Friday 25 – Saturday 26 July. This innovative show sees stars from the best TV dance programmes including Kevin Clifton & Karen Hauer (Strictly Come Dancing) and Flawless (Britain’s Got Talent) join forces for a spectacular dance showcase.

Back by popular demand The Mousetrap returns to the New Theatre from Tuesday 30 September – Saturday 4 October. This record-breaking play is full of twists and turns as Agatha Christie’s brilliantly intricate plot keeps audiences guessing to the very end.

Starring Ben Richards (Footballers Wives) and Cardiff’s own Noel Sullivan (We Will Rock You), the West End’s most raucous musical Rock of Ages bursts into Cardiff from Monday 6 – Saturday 11 October. Full of classic hits including We Built This City, The Final Countdown, I Wanna Know What Love Is and Don’t Stop Believing’ this celebration of classic 80s rock culture will have audiences reaching for their air guitar at every performance.

West End star Jodi Prenger joins a talented cast of actor-musicians for a brand new production of classic musical Calamity Jane from Tuesday 14 – Saturday 18 October. Full of toe tapping hits such as The Deadwood Stage (Whip-Crack Away), The Black Hills of Dakota, Just Blew in from the Windy City, Secret Love and many more this is a high energy musical not to be missed.
