Easter holiday fun with Not Now, Bernard for ages 2+ at Sherman Theatre |
Based on the picture book by David McKee The Unicorn Theatre, the UK’s leading theatre for young audiences visits Sherman Theatre from 15 – 19 April with their version of the children’s book Not Now, Bernard for ages 2+. Bernard’s got a problem. He’s found a monster in the back garden and his mum and dad are just too busy to notice. All they ever say is ‘not now, Bernard’. So Bernard tries to befriend the monster... and that doesn’t go quite to plan. David McKee is one of the UK’s leading creators of children’s books. As a writer, illustrator and filmmaker, his work has enchanted children and adults for over thirty years, having been translated into several languages throughout the world with many of his books adapted for television. His work includes the best-selling Elmer series, Mr Benn and King Rollo. He has also illustrated books for other writers including Paddington Bear and Forrest Wilson’s SuperGran books. Welsh actor, Rhys Rusbatch plays Bernard and Monster. His previous credits for the Unicorn include Hannah and Henry the Fifth. Other stage credits include A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Lyric Hammersmith), Greenland and Our Class (National Theatre) and Eurydice (Young Vic). Film and television credits include Zero Dark Thirty, Hunky Dory, Merlin and In Search of Pete Doherty. Not Now, Bernard will be at Sherman Theatre on 15 April at 4pm, 16-19 April 11am and 3pm.
