Following on from the success of Icarus Theatre Collective's critically acclaimed productions of Spring Awakening and Romeo & Juliet, the company returns to Swansea Grand Theatre with a bold and exciting new production of Shakespeare's most tragic tale, Othello: Moor of Venice, on Monday 31st March at 7.30pm and Tuesday 1st April at 10.30am. Shakespeare's Othello is a tempestuous journey from scandal and intrigue to lust and vengeance; poignant, intense and heartbreaking, it mercilessly explores every inch of the human condition. Othello is a legend in his own lifetime: noble, brave, victorious, this war hero comes back victoriously from battle and unknowingly faces his toughest challenge. Honest lago has Machiavellian plans to ruin Othello's life and fuels his venom with malignance and hateful contempt The conflict between Othello and Iago is one of the most chilling and emotionally deep conflicts in literature and the themes of temptation, jealousy, revenge and unconditional love resonate with all ages. Othello's world will be brought vividly to life as a live string quartet and a stunning ensemble cast combine with some of literature's most vibrant language and characters.
