Earthfall to offer three Performer Apprenticeships in the run up to their 25th Anniversary. |
Earthfall are offering three final year students/recent graduates the opportunity to join the company as part of their apprenticeship scheme for the research and development period of their next production Stories from a Crowded Room. This new production follows on from their success of Chelsea Hotel which received the Theatre Critics of Wales Award for Best Dance 2014. Stories from a Crowded Room will coincide with Earthfalls’ 25th Anniversary in December 2014 and will be touring (UK) in the Spring and Autumn 2015. The apprenticeship scheme has been made possible with the support of the Arts Council of Wales and the National Lottery and is an exciting opportunity for graduates to enhance their creative and performance skills, as well as a month of experience working with a professional company. Jess Cohen, Co Artistic director, commented:
“We are thrilled to be giving this opportunity to three young dancers and can’t wait to have new members joining the Earthfall team. This is the first time we have offered paid performance apprenticeships and we are delighted to have the opportunity to support young dancers through an active creative process.” The R&D period will take place between September/October 2014. This will be a time of intensive research, and offers a different opportunity for a young graduate dancer. The apprentices will have the opportunity to work in a vibrant creative environment alongside the co artistic directors, Jim Ennis and Jess Cohen as well as the company members.
