One Man, Two Guvnors at the New Theatre The National Theatre’s Award Winning Comedy

The New Theatre has today announced that the National Theatre’s award-winning comedy One Man, Two Guvnors is returning to Cardiff from Monday 9 – Saturday 14 February 2015.

One Man, Two Guvnors tells the hilarious story of Francis Henshall who, fired from his skiffle band, becomes minder to Roscoe Crabbe. But Roscoe is really Rachel, posing as her own dead brother – who’s been killed by her boyfriend Stanley Stubbers. Francis spots the chance of an extra meal ticket and takes a job with one Stanley Stubbers – but to prevent discovery, he must keep his two guvnors apart. Simple. Seen by over one million people worldwide, this internationally acclaimed smash-hit has been described as a glorious celebration of British comedy, a unique, laugh-out-loud mix of satire, slapstick and glittering one-liners.

Gavin Spokes (who recently played Parsons in the Almeida/Headlong production of 1984) stars as loveable chancer, Francis Henshall, with Shaun Williamson (best known for playing Barry from EastEnders) playing Charlie Clench. Emma Barton (best known for playing Honey Mitchell in EastEnders) takes on the role of Dolly. Other casting includes Jasmyn Banks (Pauline Clench), Alicia Davies (Rachel Crabbe), Michael Dylan (Alfie), Derek Elroy (Lloyd Boateng), Edward Hancock (Alan Dangle) and Patrick Warner (Stanley Stubbers).

One Man, Two Guvnors is at the New Theatre from Monday 9 – Saturday 14 February 2015. Tickets are on sale now with prices from £11.00 to £33.00. For further details about the show or to book tickets* visit www.newtheatrecardiff.co.uk or call the Box Office on (029) 2087 8889.
