6666 Events are providing the opportunity for everyone in the world to perform together in a giant happening; with or without the knowledge of performance art, experimental theatre or the Fluxus art movement - none of the academic stuff need matter here, people can just have fun. Also, it really is as simple as it sounds - a person reads one of the sentences and is then free to perform any action which in their mind relates to the event. It can be deadly serious or done for the giggles! What will the words compel you to do? Make a spectacle of yourself, be the centre of attention, retreat into a forest or even just into your own mind? Are they invitations, instructions, incantations, invocations, challenges, commands, chants or charms? Anybody can take part in this event, regardless of location or age; participants, performers, exhibitionists, interested parties and peoples, thrill seekers, boredom crushers, artists of all persuasions, anarchists, mothers, teachers, newsagents, students – working together as an entire village or independently: you, yourself and your brain. Responses can be multifaceted with a level of logistic complexity known only by space mission controllers or so simple as to be childishly obvious, perhaps pleasantly enlightening. Nobody need engage with every event. The events themselves are being periodically shared via Facebook, Twitter and when the time comes, there will be a selection of eleven events every day. We have also invited a dozen brilliant minds to create events for us, including the founder of Improv Everywhere, Charlie Todd and author/musician David Toop. In addition to this, we are also accepting submissions for events written by you! Send your instructional sentences to 6666events@gmail.com They need to be precisely 101 characters long and this includes spaces and punctuation and preferably without a final full stop.
