The exhibition is in association with Creu Cymru Dance Buddy Scheme, RCT-Arts and choreographer, Jem Treays using his production of The First Time Machine as inspiration. The launch will take place at the Park and Dare Theatre in Treorchy on Saturday 21 June 2014 at 2.30pm You can see more of the exhibition images on The Beauty and The Grit website. This exhibition focuses on choreographer Jem Treays as the Dance Buddy of Park and Dare Theatre and shows a series of images concerning the highly personalised relationship between the two performers, Jem and Aidan Treays who are brothers in real life and the photography focuses tightly on that relationship. The exhibition comprises sixteen small black-framed images which show the intense and gritty relationship between the brothers. The third and fourth editions of The Beauty and The Grit will take place in Delhi and Bangalore in September this year. The last three editions will take place at the Borough Theatre, Abergavenny, The Riverfront, Newport and Taliesin Arts Centre, Swansea over the following twelve months. |
