A mouse took a stroll through a deep, dark wood…

Everyone’s favourite monster The Gruffalo is stomping his way towards Cardiff at this very moment. From Thursday 10 to Sunday 13 July this hit stage adaptation of the award-winning picture book by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler will be delighting young audiences with its songs, laughs and scary fun!

Perfect for children 3 and up, The Gruffalo has received rave reviews for its enchanting characters and clever storytelling. It tells the tale of a brave mouse, who ventures through the dark woods in search of an elusive nut. When she encounters all manner of creatures who have her in mind for lunch, Mouse's tale of the imaginary beast, the Gruffalo, scares them off. But soon, as every child in the audience knows, Mouse herself is in for a big surprise as dreams turn into reality…

Their performance of The Gruffalo’s irresistibly charming tale finds exactly the right balance of storytelling, audience participation, music and comedy. At 55 minutes long, this monster of a show will keep children and adults enthralled from beginning to end and give them the perfect opportunity to let their imaginations run wild!

The Gruffalo is at the New Theatre, Cardiff from Thursday 10 – Sunday 13 July. Tickets are on sale now with prices from just £8.50 to £12.50. For further details about the show or to purchase tickets visit or call the Box Office on (029) 2087 8889.
