Theatre in Wales

The latest theatre, dance and performance news

Internationally renowned dance company Mar Gómez is coming to theatres in Swansea, Newport and Treorchy as part of a programming initiative to bring high quality international dance into Wales.

Families and dance lovers will adore their colourful and amusing show Dios Menguante (Shrinking God). Movement, gesture and a sense of humour are the basic ingredients used for this story of a priest who makes a stop on his way through life, and a woman who stops at nothing! Two people with opposite personalities inadvertently put each other and a washing machine to the test, in order to cope with the twists and turns of destiny. Doing the washing will never seem like a routine chore again!

This is a rare chance to see this fabulous dance company from Barcelona, with exceptional dancers Mar Gómez and Xavier Martinez, who have travelled the world with this gorgeously funny show.

Shows are at Taliesin Swansea Fri 7 Nov at 7.30pm 01792 602060, The Riverfront Newport Tue 11 Nov at 7pm 01633 656757 and Park & Dare Treorchy on 12 Nov at 7.30pm 08000 147111

The tour is supported by Creu Cymru and the Wales Dance Consortium, made possible by funding from the Arts Council of Wales.
