The New Theatre announces NINE exciting new shows for 2015

The New Theatre announces nine exciting new shows, now on sale, at the popular city centre venue. They are Hamlet (10 - 14 March 2015), Saturday Night Fever (31 March – 4 April 2015), Ben and Holly (8 – 9 April 2015), The Banff Mountain Film Festival (10 April 2015), Return to the Forbidden Planet (20 – 25 April 2015), Peter Pan Goes Wrong (28 April – 2 May 2015), The Woman in Black (5 - 9 May 2015), Jeeves and Wooster in Perfect Nonsense (9-13 June 2015) and Beautiful Thing (14 – 18 July 2015).

Clwyd Theatr Cymru returns to the New with their exciting new production of Hamlet from Tuesday 10 – Saturday 14 March 2015. This innovative and imaginative show breathes new life into one of Shakespeare’s best known plays.

It’s 1976 and in Brooklyn, New York, Tony Manero has only one ambition in life – to become the disco king. Made famous by the hit film staring John Travolta Saturday Night Fever explodes onto the New Theatre stage from Tuesday 31 March – Saturday 4 April 2015. This brand new production, of one of the most loved dance stories of all time, is packed with legendary hits from the Bee Gees including: Stayin’ Alive, Night Fever, Jive Talking’, You Should be Dancing and How Deep is Your Love?.

Children’s television favourites Ben and Holly come to Cardiff in their very own stage show from Wednesday 8 – Thursday 9 April 2015. Children will love joining in with the fun-loving duo and their friends in an enchanting and magical musical adventure that’s full of games, song and laughter.

An inspiring evening that has been attracting sold out audiences across the globe; The Banff Mountain Film Festival is coming to Cardiff for the first time on Friday 10 April. Featuring extraordinary short films from the world’s leading adventure film makers means this a must-see for anyone with a spirit of adventure.

The Olivier Award winning rock spectacular Return to the Forbidden Planet is blasting on to the New Theatre stage from Monday 20 – Saturday 25 April 2015. Celebrating its 25th Anniversary this exciting show is packed with rock ‘n’ roll classics such as: Heard It Through the Grapevine, Young Girl, Good Vibrations and Gloria.

Following on from the success of The Play That Goes Wrong earlier this year, the Cornely Polytechnic Drama Society are back and this time they are attempting to stage J M Barrie’s much loved classic. Peter Pan Goes Wrong from Tuesday 28 April – Saturday 2 May 2015 is a brilliant new comedy where everything that can go wrong …. does!

For 25 years The Woman in Black has been scaring the pants off West End theatregoers and has done the same on its visits to Cardiff. The chilling legacy returns from Tuesday 5 – Saturday 9 May 2015 and is just as unsettling as ever.

Audiences will love an evening of raucous comedy with the West End hit Jeeves and Wooster in Perfect Nonsense (Tuesday 9 – Saturday 13 June 2015). This hilarious production layers joy on joy, joke on joke, in a delightful evening of theatrical absurdity featuring P.G. Wodehouse’s finest characters.

Jonathan Harvey’s urban love story Beautiful Thing comes to the New Theatre from Tuesday 14 – Saturday 18 July 2015. This modern comedy follows the blossoming romance of two teenage boys set on an inner city housing estate. Full of laughs, warmth and the music of Mama Cass, this heart-warming drama captures what it is to be a teenager and to fall in love.
