Playwrights talk about their home towns in free interactive exhibition from Paines Plough

Come to Where I’m From in the Sherman Theatre foyer, 18 February – 12 March

Come To Where I'm From, the culmination of a five year project by Paines Plough, lands at the Sherman Theatre following a successful launch event at London's Southbank Centre last year.

Paines Plough, in association with Sherman Cymru, will be bringing their free interactive exhibition to the Sherman Theatre foyer where anybody can drop-in at any time during Sherman Theatre opening hours and listen through headphones to stories inspired by cities and towns across the UK

Discover candid, hilarious and insightful recordings of short plays dotted along an interactive map of the UK. Choose a location, pop on some headphones, sit back and listen to short plays by the nation's top playwrights about the place they call home.

Pull up a pew and hear James Graham's paean to the lost mining industry in his native Mansfield, wander into Gurpreet Kaur Bhatti's garrulous family home in Watford or let Tim Price share tales of Cardiff while you sit back and relax in the Sherman Foyer.

Paines Plough is an award-winning, nationally and internationally renowned touring theatre company, specialising exclusively in commissioning and producing new plays and helping playwrights develop their craft. Come To Where I’m From was part of their 40th Anniversary programme last year where they engaged with over 100 playwrights.

Come To Where I’m From is a free interactive exhibition and is an ideal opportunity to listen to bite size short stories while having a coffee, enjoying some lunch from Foxy’s Kitchen or waiting for the main house production of Crouch, Touch, Pause, Engage to start whilst enjoying a pint.

Come To Where I’m From will be at the Sherman Theatre from 18 February – 12 March.

Free admission and no booking required.
