An acclaimed one woman show dealing with the issue of young girls being groomed for sex opens at Chapter Arts Centre next week. Dark Vanilla Jungle by Philip Ridley presented by Cardiff’s Company of Sirens stars nineteen year old Welsh actress Seren Vickers in the role of Andrea, a young girl whose vulnerability is exploited by a group of men as she searches for home and family. The play is a hard hitting superbly written piece that shows the dangers that homeless and vulnerable young people are exposed to when for whatever reason they slip through the support network. Supported by the Arts Council of Wales and Shelter Cymru the play is a harrowing yet enervating watch as it demonstrated the durability of the human spirit. Not to be missed the play runs from Tuesday 3rd March till Saturday 7th at 7.30 with a Saturday matinee at 2.30.
