Jeeves & Wooster in Perfect Nonsense at the New Theatre

After conquering the West End, including a 2014 Olivier Award for Best Comedy, PG Wodehouse’s iconic pairing Jeeves & Wooster bring their trademark humour to Cardiff on Tuesday 9 – Saturday 13 June. Adapted from Wodehouse’s works, Perfect Nonsense is a wonderful new play with a hilarious cast.

When things go awry during a country house weekend away, Bertie Wooster is called on to not only play matchmaker, but also to steal a silver cow creamer from Totleigh Towers. The only thing stopping the aristocrat from making a fool of himself is his ever-dependable valet Jeeves. Layering joy on joy and joke on joke, this is a laugh-out-loud comedy featuring such fine Wodehouse creations as Roderick Spode, Gussie Fink-Nottle and Dahlia Travers.

Edward Hancock (One Man, Two Guvnors, Jeeves & Wooster – West End) plays the effervescent Wooster, narrating this outrageous tale as Jeeves – played by Jason Thorpe (What the Butler Saw, Primeval) – runs around building the set and enacting all the other characters. Helping Jeeves bring the characters to life is fellow butler Seppings, played by Chris Ryan (The Young Ones, Absolutely Fabulous). Perfect Nonsense is the comedy of the year, and a delightful evening of theatrical absurdity.
