Audiences can expect a night of glitz and glamour, celebrating the great moments of musical theatre including many of the shows performed at the Centre. And with a few surprises along the way, it's going to be a real spectacle - not to be missed!”

Bryn Terfel in Tosca
Celebrating his 50th birthday at Wales Millennium Centre, Bryn Terfel, the Centre’s ambassador, will perform Puccini’s passionate and dramatic opera, Tosca, with some of the world’s leading singers and the award-winning Welsh National Opera

Bryn Terfel recreates the role of Scarpia, whilst Ainhoa Arteta takes the title role of Floria Tosca and Teodor Ilincăi is the ill-fated artist Cavaradossi.

David Pountney, Welsh National Opera’s Chief Executive and Artistic Director says “Welsh National Opera is delighted that a concert version of our classic Tosca production will form the climax of Wales Millennium Centre’s 10th anniversary celebrations, and will feature Wales’s favourite baritone, Bryn Terfel, alongside a distinguished cast. Not only can Wales Millennium Centre boast a world-class stage for musical-theatre, it is also one of the finest purpose built opera houses in Europe. Having transformed the landscape for opera goers in Wales and beyond, the Centre rightly serves as a beacon for Wales’ cultural vision and ambition. Happy anniversary!”
