NATIONAL THEATRE WALES PREPARE FOR WEEK-LONG RESIDENCY AT PONTIO

This April, National Theatre Wales – the country’s English-language national theatre company - will set up home in Pontio, Bangor, for a week-long residency called Made in Bangor, to celebrate the town’s creative talent.

The company will work with local artists, residents, and students to develop and provide a creative platform for artists, musicians, poets, actors, performers and enthusiasts from across the city and beyond.

The week will kick off with an Introduction to Technical Theatre session on Monday and two video mapping workshops on Tuesday. Wednesday will see an all-day conference for artists, arts practitioners and stage managers, featuring guest speakers and roundtable discussions. Local artist Lyndsey Colbourne will be share some of her latest, ongoing project on Thursday. The week will culminate in a FREE Performance Party on Friday 15 April at 8pm, with food & drink and live music, hosted by National Theatre Wales TEAM.

National Theatre Wales has, in the past, held residencies in Anglesey, Treorchy, Cardiff Bay and even Tokyo. Each residency has been distinct, responding to the ideas of local artists of all disciplines.

The residency will take place 11-15 April. The full schedule will be published on NTW’s website as it draws closer: www.nationaltheatrewales.org/madeinbangor
