Playing the demanding title role is HUW NOVELLI who will be no stranger to South Wales theatre audiences with some impressive recent performances on his credit, from an outstanding HAMLET at Swansea`s Grand Theatre, via Oberon in Pontardawe Art Centre`s A MIDSUMMER NIGHT`S DREAM, to a Wales Theatre Awards Best Actor nomination in Fluellen`s DRACULA last year. The powerfully ambitious Lady Macbeth will be played by ALISON LENIHAN. An actress working regularly in film and television, she played her first Shakespeare role as Queen Elizabeth in Fluellen`s RICHARD III earlier this year. MACBETH, which opens at Swansea`s Grand Theatre Arts Wing on 28th September is the third major Shakespeare production in Fluellen`s ambitious Shakespeare 400 series of plays and events commemorating the 400th anniversary of the death of the Bard. It follows critically acclaimed productions of RICHARD III and AS YOU LIKE IT, and will be followed by THE TEMPEST in November. The Shakespeare 400 Season, supported by Swansea Grand Theatre and the Dylan Thomas Centre, has been made possible by the generous sponsorship of PETER LYNN & PARTNERS. Peter Lynn, Senior Partner and keen patron of the arts in Swansea commented “We have been supporting Fluellen Theatre for a number of years and the calibre of their productions always astounds me. When we were approached to support the four plays to commemorate the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare’s death, the decision was easy” FLUELLEN THEATRE COMPANY presents MACBETH by William Shakespeare GRAND THEATRE ARTS WING, Swansea 28th September – 30th September STIWDIO STEPNI, Ffwrnes, Llanelli 5th & 6th October GRAND PAVILION, Porthcawl 7th October THEATR GWAUN.
