10ccSwansea Grand Theatre Tuesday 27 September 7.30pm Celebrating the 40th anniversary of their seminal album, Sheet Music, the super group 10cc is at Swansea Grand Theatre on Tuesday 27th September at 7.30pm. Led by 10cc co-founder Graham Gouldman, the first half of the evening comprises Sheet Music its entirety, with a pause for the symbolic turning of the vinyl album. Released in 1974, Sheet Music reached number 9 in the UK album charts and entered the Top 100 in the US. It remains a masterclass in the composition of popular music and typifies the eclecticism and remarkable invention that characterised the band’s earlier work. The second half of the concert features a comprehensive spread of the band’s eleven Top 10 hits and more, including their three number 1s: I’m Not In Love, Dreadlock Holiday and Rubber Bullets. The current live band, which has been together for more than ten years, features Gouldman on vocals, bass and guitar; Rick Fenn (lead guitar, vocals), Paul Burgess (drums, percussion), Mick Wilson (vocals, guitar, percussion) and Keith Hayman (keyboards, guitar, vocals). Rick and Paul have both worked with 10cc since the mid-‘70s line-up. Purveyors of some of the greatest pop songs of the 20th century, 10cc has sold more than 15 million albums in the UK and 30 million worldwide. Such is the enduring nature of their music that movie-makers can’t resist including the band in soundtracks, with I’m Not In Love featuring in Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason and 2014 blockbuster, Guardians of the Galaxy, while Dreadlock Holiday was used in The Social Network (2010), about the founding of Facebook Tickets for this evening of quality music are available from the Box Office on 01792 475715 or can be purchased online at www.swanseagrand.co.uk and are £31.00 & £33.00* * All tickets include a 50p Restoration Fund contribution.
