New writing company Invisible Ink, have spent the past two years carefully collecting personal stories for their new show The Terrible Things I’ve Done. Audiences in Bristol’s The Wardrobe Theatre and Chapter, Cardiff will enjoy stories that range from the toe-curlingly awkward to the downright heart-breaking, as the production navigates our fallible nature.Invisible Ink thrust their audience to the front and centre of their productions. The audience’s experiences are integral to their work, so much so that the company are offering the opportunity for audiences to unburden themselves via their “confession booth” which will be available in the foyer before and after the show. No longer will you need to carry the burden of your misdemeanours… There will be no judgement – they promise! This production, like all of Invisible Ink’s work, is a collaboration from the outset – they thrive on experimenting in the rehearsal room, relishing the process of storytelling and making creative choices. Company Co-artistic Director and Director of the show Sita Calvert-Ennals said of the piece “We are not afraid to work across many different mediums to find the best way to tell a story. The Terrible Things I've Done came about by looking at themes we care about. We were interested in questions around forgiveness and judgement. Can we ever truly forgive ourselves for the darker aspects of our personalities?” Fellow company Artistic Director and show’s writer Alan Harris talks of the development and writing process “We collected stories from many different people in many different places, always giving the assurance of anonymity. Working with such source material there is a responsibility - not so much to the words themselves but to the spirit of the stories. As a writer it's not my place to judge but, and this is important, you can't be so fair-handed in writing the script that it takes away the impact of the stories.” Which is true of this warm, honest and thought-provoking production where - no one is let off the hook. The company hope that audiences will enjoy the journey the production takes, from laughing at naughty doings to gasping at jaw-droppingly terrible acts. Audiences may see a little of themselves in some of these stories and may even leave with their conscience a little lighter as a result A yw cyffesu yn dda I’r enaid? Mae cwmni ysgrifennu newydd Invisible Ink wedi treulio'r ddwy flynedd ddiwethaf yn casglu storïau personol ar gyfer ei sioe newydd, The Terrible Things I've Done. Bydd yn cael ei lansio ym mis Medi, a bydd cynulleidfaoedd ym Mryste a Chaerdydd yn mwynhau ystod o storïau, o’r rhai lletchwith sy'n gwneud ichi wingo, i'r rhai a fydd yn torri eich calon, wrth i'r cynhyrchiad ymchwilio i'n natur ffaeledig ni. Mae Invisible Ink yn gwthio eu cynulleidfa i ganol eu cynyrchiadau. Mae eu profiadau hwy yn rhan anhepgor o'u gwaith – cymaint nes bod y cwmni'n cynnig cyfle i gynulleidfaoedd ddadlwytho eu hunain yn y "bwth cyffesu" a fydd yn y cyntedd cyn ac ar ôl y sioe Ni fydd rhaid ichi fyw gyda baich eich camymddygiadau mwyach, fel y dywed y dywediad, mae problem wedi'i rhannu... ni fydd unrhyw feirniadaeth – maen nhw'n addo! Mae'r cynhyrchiad hwn, fel holl waith Invisible Ink, yn gydweithrediad o'r dechrau un. Maen nhw'n ffynnu ar arbrofi yn yr ystafell ymarfer, ac yn ymhyfrydu yn y broses o adrodd storïau a gwneud penderfyniadau creadigol. Dywedodd Cyd-gyfarwyddwr Artistig a Chyfarwyddwr y cwmni Sita Calvert-Ennals y canlynol am y darn: " Nid ydym yn ofni gweithio ar draws llawer o gyfryngau gwahanol i ddod ar draws y ffordd orau i adrodd stori. Cafodd The Terrible Things I've Done ei greu drwy edrych ar y pethau sy'n bwysig inni. Mae gennym ddiddordeb mewn pethau megis maddeuant a barn. A ydyn ni wir yn gallu maddau i ni ein hunain am yr agweddau tywyllach ar ein personoliaethau?" Mae Cyd-gyfarwyddwr Artistig y cwmni ac awdur y sioe Alan Harris yn siarad am y broses ddatblygu ac ysgrifennu: "Fe wnaethom gasglu storïau gan lawer o wahanol bobl mewn lleoedd gwahanol – gan sicrhau bob amser y byddent yn ddienw. Mae gweithio gyda deunydd o ffynonellau o'r fath yn gyfrifoldeb – nid cymaint am y geiriau eu hunain ond am ysbryd y storïau. Fel awdur nid fy lle i yw beirniadu, ond, ac mae hyn yn bwysig, allwch chi ddim bod mor deg eich meddwl wrth ysgrifennu'r sgript nes iddo golli effaith y storïau." Mae hyn yn wir am y cynhyrchiad cynnes, gonest hwn sy'n gwneud ichi feddwl – does neb yn dianc. Mae'r cwmni'n gobeithio y bydd cynulleidfaoedd yn mwynhau'u daith mae'r cynhyrchiad yn mynd arni – boed hynny'n chwerthin am weithredoedd drwg neu ryfeddu at weithredoedd erchyll o wael. Mae'n bosibl y bydd cynulleidfaoedd yn gweld rhywfaint o’u hunain yn rhai o'r storïau hyn, a hyd yn oed yn gadael gyda'u cydwybod ychydig yn ysgafnach o ganlyniad.
