Inspired by the smash hit multi-million selling albums Dreamboats and Petticoats One, Two, Three, Four and Five, Dreamboats and Petticoats The Musical comes to the New Theatre from Monday 13 – Saturday 18 February 2017. Emotions run high in 1961 when young musicians Norman and Bobby compete to win both a national song writing competition and, more importantly, the attention of the gorgeous Sue. But love and rock ‘n’ roll fame beckons when Bobby discovers that shy Laura is no slouch on the piano. The first five albums in the Dreamboats… series sold over 2 million copies and spent several weeks at the Number One spot in the compilation charts, making it a dazzling success and leading to what would then become this hugely popular and much-loved musical. Dreamboats and Petticoats is a West End sell out sensation and features some of the greatest songs of the Rock ‘n’ Roll era, from the likes of Roy Orbison, The Shadows, Eddie Cochran, Billy Fury and many more.
