Gareth Clark takes to the stage to share the deepest and darkest parts of his very soul in this astonishingly revealing piece of solo performance theatre. Directed by Agnieszka Blonska, Gareth tells his life story in an ever-more fevered narrative. Focusing on the early childhood memories that unearth the fears of a middle-aged man plagued by news of IS attacks, Edward Snowden’s revelations and a growing concern about bladder control. In a time where male mental health issues and suicide rates are reaching a critical state, (F.E.A.R.) reveals the vulnerability of a male performer in full confessional mode. You are not alone. (F.E.A.R.) was written and devised by Gareth Clark and performed at Chapter Arts Centre during Experimentica in 2015 working with director, Agnieszka Blonska. Additional choreography was added with the expert eye of Marega Palser, the other half of the Mr and Mrs Clark duo, who has also designed the lighting. This is a unique opportunity and a unnerving one as I take to the stage without Mrs Clark for the first time. However, she is very much part of the production and we felt this was an important and timely piece of work that fitted in with the performance work Mr and Mrs Clark have been making over the last 5 years Gareth Clark Mr and Mrs Clark are committed to creating accessible performance pieces and both shows on the 25th February at Chapter Arts Centre will be BSL interpreted (Tony Evans) and audio described (Alastair Sill). Mr and Mrs Clark follow up their Amnesty International award nominated show Smash It Up with another powerful performance questioning the way we live. “Close to a smack in the face in theatrical terms.
