MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET is inspired by the famous recording session that brought together Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins. The true story of one unforgettable night in music history will rock out from Tuesday 2 – Saturday 6 May, featuring Jason Donovan as manager Sam Phillips.

Featuring two hours of the greatest songs ever written, BUDDY – The Buddy Holly Story returns to the New Theatre on Tuesday 4 – Saturday 8 July. Songs including La Bamba, Johnny B. Goode and Peggy Sue will leave you breathless – forget feel good, this is FEEL GREAT!

The ‘standing-ovation musical BLOOD BROTHERS tells the captivating and moving tale of twins who, separated at birth, grow up on opposite sides of the tracks – only to meet again with fateful consequences. It makes a welcome return from Tuesday 26 – Saturday 30 September.

Rufus Norris’ production of CABARET, the multi-award winning show, enjoyed two hit runs in the West End. That same production now comes to Cardiff from Tuesday 17 – Saturday 21 October complete with show-stopping choreography by Javier de Frutos, dazzling costumes and iconic songs including Money Makes the World Go Round and Cabaret.

CILLA THE MUSICAL is a brand new show based on the hit ITV play. The show charts her rise from an ordinary girl with teenage dreams to becoming one of Britain’s best-loved entertainers. This spectacular and heart-warming adaptation comes to the New from Tuesday 31 October – Saturday 4 November, with her greatest hits including Anyone Who Had a Heart, Alfie and Something Tells Me.

Wales’ no.1 amateur company Orbit Theatre returns with WEST SIDE STORY from Tuesday 7 – Saturday 11 November. Turning 60 this year the show remains, from first notes to final breath, one of the most memorable musicals of all time.

Rita Simons and Bill Ward star in the new production of LEGALLY BLONDE from Monday 20 – Saturday 25 November. As all-singing, all-dancing romantic comedies go, this can’t be beaten for a fun-filled, feel-good pink-fest!


The gripping stage adaptation of Susan Hill’s THE WOMAN IN BLACK is back on the road and returns to Cardiff on Tuesday 6 – Saturday 10 June. Join the seven million theatregoers worldwide who have experienced this brilliantly successful study in atmosphere, illusion and controlled horror.

NOT DEAD ENOUGH is the thrilling new stage play from Peter James, part of his award-winning Roy Grace novel series and the third play in his critically acclaimed stage franchise. Playing at the New from Tuesday 13 – Saturday 17 June, the show stars Bill Ward, Laura Whitmore and Stephen Billington.

DEATHTRAP continues to hold the record as the longest running thriller in Broadway history. A truly satisfying spine-chiller, where no one is exactly what they first appear to be, it’ll keep you on the edge of your seat. Jessie Wallace and Paul Bradley lead the cast from Tuesday 26 – Saturday 30 September.

WAIT UNTIL DARK, written by Frederick Knott (Dial M for Murder) follows Suzy, a blind woman who, left alone in her flat, becomes embroiled with a group of conmen. Ranked as one of the top 100 scariest films, Jack Ellis and Oliver Mellor notch up the tension in this major revival from Tuesday 14 – Saturday 18 November.

Drama & Comedy

Shaun Williamson,Sue Holderness, Arthur Bostrom and Andrew Hall are part of the stellar comic-actor company bringing OUT OF ORDER to Cardiff on Tuesday 16 – Saturday 20 May. Ray Cooney’s Olivier award-winning farce will have you howling with laughter.

Bringing together music and movement through a strong and ever-present cast, a bold new production of Arthur Miller’s THE CRUCIBLE plays in Cardiff from Tuesday 23 – Saturday 27 May. Starring Charlie Condou and Victoria Yeates, this landmark play about witchcraft and small-town paranoia stands as both a historical record and a political parable of our times.

Unforgettable characters from the landmark novel and Oscar-winning film are brought to life in THE GRADUATE, now a hit West End comedy. This first major revival of the play arrives in Cardiff on Tuesday 20 – Saturday 24 June starring Catherine McCormack (Braveheart) and Jack Monaghan (War Horse).

SHIRLEY VALENTINE is Willy Russell’s heartwarming comedy about a bored Liverpool housewife who sees herself and the world very differently during a two-week holiday to Greece. The first major revival of this national treasure, which stars Jodie Prenger, comes to the New from Tuesday 27 June – Saturday 1 July.

THE WIPERS TIMES is the true and extraordinary story of the satirical newspaper created in the mud and mayhem of the Somme. Written by Ian Hislop and Nick Newman, this laugh-out-loud play comes direct from the West End from Tuesday 12 – Saturday 16 September.

Fabulous for Families

Join Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe, Gloria the hip hop Hippo and those hilarious penguins this half term in MADAGASCAR – A Musical Adventure. Brought to you by Orbit Theatre, Wales’ no.1 amateur theatre company, from Wednesday 31 May – Sunday 4 June, the show will leave you with no choice but to “Move It, Move It!”

From the makers of Peppa Pig comes BEN & HOLLY’S LITTLE KINGDOM, the BAFTA award-winning television animation live on stage! Join Ben, Holly and their friends on Saturday 15 – Sunday 16 July for this magical musical adventure packed full of games, songs and laughter, a guaranteed delight for the whole family. Suggested age: 3+.

Join Mouse on a daring adventure through the deep, dark wood in a captivating adaptation of THE GRUFFALO, the classic picture book by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler. There will be songs, laughs and scary fun for children aged 3+ and their grown-ups in the much-loved show from Thursday 31 August – Sunday 3 September.

A talented cast of 8 playing over 125 characters bring AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 DAYS to life in an imaginative new production. Phileas Fogg’s incredible race around the world is a high-spirited escapade that includes four flights, five boats, six trains – and just eight performances from Tuesday 19 – Saturday 24 September.

Fresh from their cinematic release, PEPPA PIG and George are back on stage to enthral your little ones in a brand new adventure in the great outdoors, complete with tents. And muddy puddles. This new live show full of songs and fun can be seen on Wednesday 25 & Thursday 26 October.

SNOW WHITE & THE SEVEN DWARFS is the New Theatre’s pantomime this year featuring a star cast, comedy, sensational song and dance numbers, stunning costumes dazzling special effects. This glittering festive treat comes to the New from Saturday 9 December 2017 – Sunday 14 January 2018, complete with magical mirror, seven friendly dwarfs, a beautiful princess, a handsome princess, a wicked queen and plenty of audience participation!
