AL STEWART Swansea Grand Theatre Sunday 14th May 7.30pm

AL STEWART
Swansea Grand Theatre
Sunday 14th May 7.30pm Winner of the Lifetime Achievement Award at the recent Radio 2 Folk Awards, singer and songwriter, Al Stewart, is at Swansea Grand Theatre for one night only with his Back to the Bedsit Tour on Sunday 14 May at 7.30pm.

Al has been writing and singing songs for fifty years and in his latest tour he will be playing acoustic versions from his musical back pages, going all the way back to the bedsit with the album, Bedsitter Images. Al will be accompanied by his long-time collaborator Dave Nachmanoff and joined by Guitarist Tim Renwick.
Al Stewart came to stardom as part of the legendary British folk revival in the sixties and seventies and he developed his own unique style of combining folk-rock songs with delicately woven tales of the great characters and events from history. He released nineteen studio albums between Bedsitter Images in 1967 and Sparks of Ancient Light in 2008 and continues to tour extensively around the US and Europe. His most recent release in 2009, Uncorked, with long-time collaborator Dave Nachmanoff, contains unplugged versions of his eclectic catalogue.

Al is probably best known for his hit Year of the Cat from the platinum album of the same name and the platinum follow-up album, Time Passages, but his career spans four decades as a key figure in British music. He played at the first ever Glastonbury Festival in 1970, worked with Yoko Ono pre-Lennon and shared a London apartment with a young Paul Simon.

AL MURRAY-THE PUB LANDLORD
Swansea Grand Theatre
Monday 15th May 7.30pm
Al Murray- The Pub Landlord brings his brand new show, Let’s Go Backwards Together, to Swansea Grand Theatre on Monday 15th May at 7.30pm.

Publican. Politician. Other thing beginning with P. Philosopher, yeah, that. The nation’s critically acclaimed bar-based brave heart, Al Murray - The Pub Landlord, embarks on a common sense campaign to re-Great Britain.

We live in troubling times. Europe. The NHS. Whatever the hell is going on in the Middle East. The gathering storm of fortnightly bin collections? Who knows where it will all end?

Watch the one man who will answer the call of destiny even though it’s an unlisted number. Watch the one man who will call time on tyranny even though he isn’t quite sure what it means. Watch the one man who isn’t afraid to say no to women ordering anything other than a glass of white wine (or fruit based drink).

“A supremely polished performer” ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Mail on Sunday

KISS OF DEATH
by Simon Williams
Wed 17 – Sat 20 May
Swansea Grand Theatre

Contemporary thriller, Kiss of Death by Simon Williams, is at Swansea Grand Theatre from Wednesday 17th to Saturday 20th May with evening performances at 7.30pm and a Saturday matinee at 2.00pm.

Starring Peter Lovstrom (Widows), David Janson (Get Some in!, 'Allo 'Allo, Keeping Up Appearances), Ciara Janson (Hollyoaks) and Davies Palmer, this hard-hitting thriller has a tightly-structured storyline and plenty of dark, sardonic humour to punctuate its mood of prevailing menace.

Actress Zoe Lang attends a most unusual improvisation workshop and finds herself auditioning to be the bait for a real life serial killer. Taking on the role of a young runaway, Natasha Campion, Zoe meets the sinister and manipulative John Smith. Layer upon layer of twisted unreality is stripped away as Zoe and the police home in on their target.

“Thriller is worth strapping yourself in for…There were quite a few jump-out-of-your-seat moments.” Henley Standard

Tickets for the evening of thrills are available from the Box Office on 01792 475715 or can be purchased online at www.swanseagrand.co.uk and are £10.00 - £16.50* with an opening night 2 for 1 offer and selected concessions available.
*All tickets include a 50p Restoration Fund contribution. Online booking fee applies.
