RAY COONEY’S OUT OF ORDER Swansea Grand Theatre Mon 3 – Sat 8 July |
Ray Cooney, the king of comedy and farce, returns to the stage with his Westminster comedy, Out of Order, and it’s at Swansea Grand Theatre from Monday 3rd to Saturday 8th July at 7.30pm, with matinees on Wednesday and Saturday at 2.30pm.With a star-studded cast, including Shaun Williamson (EastEnders, Extras), Sue Holderness (Only Fools & Horses, Green Green Grass), Arthur Bostrom (Officer Crabtree’ in classic sitcom ‘Allo ‘Allo) and Susie May (Footballers’ Wives), a recent review of this fast and furious farce said, “Few times have I sat in a theatre and laughed constantly from beginning to end.” When Richard Willey, a Government Junior Minister, plans to spend the evening with Jane Worthington, one of the Opposition’s typists, things go disastrously wrong, beginning with the discovery of a ‘body’ trapped in the hotel’s only unreliable sash window. Desperately trying to get out of an extremely sticky situation, Richard calls for his PPS, George Pigden, who, through Richard’s lies, sinks further and further into trouble with everybody and ends up going through an identity crisis. Things go from bad to worse with the arrival of Ronnie, Jane’s distraught young husband and with the addition of an unscrupulous waiter, Mrs Willey and Nurse Forster, things really come to a head! Tickets for this night of hilarity are available from the Box Office on 10792 475715 or can be purchased online at www.swanseagrand.co.uk and are £15.50 - £27.00* Opening night 2 for 1 offer (terms and conditions apply). Selected concessions available on selected performances. *All tickets include a 50p Restoration Fund contribution. Online booking fee applies. WE’RE GOING ON A BEAR HUNT Swansea Grand Theatre Tues 11 – Thurs 13 July Direct from smash-hit West End and international tours, Michael Rosen’s award-winning book, We’re Going on a Bear Hunt, is brought vividly and noisily to life on stage and is at Swansea Grand Theatre from 11 to 13 July. Performance times are: Tues 4.30pm, Wed 10.30am & 4.30pm and Thurs 10.30am & 1.30pm. Sally Cookson’s hugely inventive production set to Benji Bower’s quirky musical score is a mischievous celebration of play, utilising everyday objects and materials, to capture the imagination and catapult young audiences into the world of the much loved picture book. Join our intrepid family of adventurers and their musical dog through the swishy swashy grass, the splishy splashy river and the squelchy mud, in search of a bear. Expect plenty of fun-filled interaction and a few surprises along the way, with music, laughter, songs, rhythms, rhymes, repetitions puppetry, paints, water and mud. Michael Rosen says of the live theatre show, “It's a show full of laughter, music, silliness and thrills that I promise you will excite and delight all young children. This is a must-go show.” Tickets for this fun filled show are available from the Box Office on 01792 475715 or can be purchased online at www.swanseagrand.co.uk and are £12.00*, schools £9.50 & groups (10+) £10.00 per person. *All tickets include a 50p Restoration Fund contribution.
