Welsh harpist returns from Bangkok to release debut album 19 November / Tachwedd |
Elfair Grug will be giving a recital at Aberystwyth Arts Centre to promote her debut solo album recorded with SAIN Records, titled Perlau Pefriol / Scintillation which features her favourite music from the harp repertoire, including many Welsh works. Harpist Elfair Grug Dyer has recently returned to the UK after living in Bangkok, Thailand for two years working as a harp teacher and harpist in residence at the Tamnak Prathom Harp Centre. Elfair has embarked on a professional career as a harpist; she is a Live Music Now! and Music in Hospitals artist, performing regularly around the UK. She also tours extensively with the CLOUDS Harp Quartet. Elfair completed her Master’s degree at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, after gaining her BMus degree at the conservatoire with first class honours in 2011 as an ABRSM Scholar. Elfair is very grateful for the support of the ABRSM, RNCM, Musician’s Benevolent Fund, the Arts Council of Wales, the James Pantyfedwen Foundation and the Elizabeth Evans Trust who all supported her studies. Born in the heart of the Llŷn Peninsula, Elfair has also enjoyed many successes at the Welsh Eisteddfodau and festivals. Elfair's concert at the Arts Centre will take place on Sunday 19 November.
