Follow Second Star to the Right straight on to the Wales Millennium Centre!30th November 7pm, 1st December 7pm (accessible performance) and 2nd December 3pm & 7pm This Christmas join Hijinx’s community theatre group, Odyssey, on a voyage to Neverland in Second Star to the Right - a sparkling new sequel to J.M. Barrie’s ‘Peter Pan’. Showing in the Weston Studio of the Wales Millennium Centre from the 30th Nov – 2nd Dec at 7pm and 2nd Dec at 3pm, with an accessible performance on the 1st December with Audio Description and BSL. Second Star to the Right Written by Llinos Mai, Second Star to the Right features a vibrant cast of disabled and non-disabled performers from Odyssey, pupils from Woodlands High School, and haunting, original music. With Neverland disappearing and with Peter Pan gone, who can save Imagination, Adventure and the Second Star to the Right? The show is a fantastical flight for the whole family, charting Neverland’s Mermaid Lagoon, the Lost Boy’s Treehouse and other places people can only dream of… There will also be an exhibition in the Wales Millennium Centre from Early December where visitors will be further immersed into Neverland. Plus, pre-show performances of Stay Down will also be taking place from Telemachus, Hijinx’s community theatre group for disabled and non-disabled 16-24 year olds. About Hijinx Odyssey Hijinx Odyssey is an inclusive community group for adults who share a passion for performance, as well as the amateur arm of Welsh theatre company Hijinx. The magic of Odyssey, and what makes it a rare find, is that it brings together people with and without disabilities from very different backgrounds to explore, play, and journey together into the world of make believe. Nia Ramage, a long standing member of the group, describes Odyssey as “like having an extended family,” she continues, “There's an amazing sense of unity between all the members of Odyssey as well as Hijinx staff and volunteers and we pride ourselves on working together as a team at all times. We continuously help each other out whether it's during our Monday night sessions, weekend rehearsals or during our actual performances.” Making Second Star to the Right possible This production is made possible by revenue funding from Arts Council Wales, the support of Cardiff Council’s Cultural Projects Scheme and by the members of the group who have come together over the past year to fundraise towards putting on a Christmas production in the Weston Studio at Wales Millennium Centre.
