Noises Off at the New Theatre

Michael Frayn’s hugely successful comedy Noises Off is coming to the New Theatre, Cardiff for one week only from Monday 14 April. This stunning Royal National Theatre production has been a hit with audiences everywhere. It opened in London in October 2000 to ecstatic reviews and a year later transferred to Broadway where it became the biggest selling play in New York theatre history. Across the whole world audiences have been seduced by this hilarious and ingenious show.

Paul Bradley (EastEnders), Cheryl Campbell (The Way We Live Now), Philip Franks (Heartbeat) and Sylvester McCoy (Dr Who) lead an all-star cast in this comic masterpiece.

NOISES OFF is two plays for the price of one. It’s a traditional farce, Nothing On, and at the same time it is the real life farce that develops backstage, during the show’s final rehearsal and disastrous tour. The riotous fun on-stage is paralleled only by volcanic excitements off-stage; the two plays interlock as the actors make their exits from one play, only to find themselves making entrances into the other—and back again.

Noises Off is at the New Theatre, Cardiff from Monday 14 to Saturday 19 April. Tickets are on sale now and cost from £7. Full details are available on the show leaflet, the website www.newtheatrecardiff.co.uk or from the New Theatre Box Office on (029) 2087 8889.
