THE TRON THEATRE COMPANY AND SHERMAN THEATRE PRESENT THE MOTHER**KER WITH THE HAT BY STEPHEN ADLY GUIRGIS

THE TRON THEATRE COMPANY AND SHERMAN THEATRE PRESENT THE MOTHER**KER WITH THE HAT BY STEPHEN ADLY GUIRGIS Sherman Theatre is delighted to be working with Tron Theatre Company on the Welsh and Scottish premiere production of Stephen Adly Guirgis’s The Motherf**ker with the Hat. This major co-production of this fast-moving and foul-mouthed play will run at Sherman Theatre from 21 – 31 March following performances at the Tron Theatre in Glasgow.
Guirgis has been described as a prolific chronicler of marginal lives, with his stage plays garnering multiple awards: The Motherf**ker with the Hat received six Tony Award nominations. The Motherf**ker with the Hat is an explosive, expletive-filled, tough- talking tale of love and infidelity set on the meanest streets of New York City.
It’s New York and Jackie’s in trouble. An ex-con struggling with addiction, he’s trying to go straight and get back with childhood sweetheart Veronica, but can he trust her? His sponsor, the outwardly pious and clean-living Ralph D. isn’t all he seems and Cousin Julio really doesn’t like him very much. Can Jackie keep it together or is he on a path to self-destruct?
A superb cast has been announced for this production including three Welsh or Wales based actors: Francois Pandolfo as Jackie, Alexandria Riley as Veronica and Kyle Lima as Cousin Julio. Alexandria Riley will be well known to Sherman Theatre audiences for her portrayals of Dottie, the housekeeper, in The Cherry Orchard, and Kitty in How My Light Is Spent. The cast also includes Jermaine Dominique as Ralph and Renee Williams as Victoria. Sherman Theatre Associate Artist Kenny Miller will create their seedy New York
setting, with lighting from Simon Hayes and Iphigenia in Splott’s Sam Jones providing the soundscape.

Mae Theatr y Sherman yn falch tu hwnt i gael gweithio gyda Tron Theatre Company ar y premiere Cymreig ac Albanaidd o The Motherf**ker with the Hat gan Stephen Adly Guirgis. Bydd y cyd-gynhyrchiad o bwys o’r ddrama fyrlymus a bras ei thafod hon yn rhedeg yn Theatr y Sherman rhwng 21 - 31 Mawrth yn dilyn perfformiadau yn Tron Theatre yn Glasgow.
Mae Guirgis eisoes wedi cael ei ddisgrifio fel croniclwr toreithiog o fywydau ar yr ymylon, ac mae ei ddramau llwyfan wedi casglu cynifer o wobrau: derbyniodd The Motherf**ker with the Hat chwech enwebiad ar gyfer Gwobr Tony. Mae The Motherf**ker with the Hat yn stori ffrwydrol, galed, llawn ebychau am gariad ac anffyddlondeb ar strydoedd mwyaf diurddas Efrog Newydd.
Mae’n Efrog Newydd ac mae Jackie mewn trwbl. Yn gyn-garcharor gyda dibyniaeth, mae’n trio troedio llwybr syth ac ail-gynnau perthynas â’i gariad o blentyndod Veronica, ond fedrith o ymddiried ynddi? Nid yw ei noddwr, y gwr tra dduwiol a thrwsiadus Ralph D. yr hyn y mae’n ymddangos a tydi’i Gefnder Julio ddim yn ei hoffi ryw lawer. Fedrith Jackie ddal popeth ynghyd neu ydi o ar y llwybr tuag at hunan-ddinistr?
Mae cast gwych wedi’i gyhoeddi ar gyfer y cynhyrchiad hwn yn cynnwys tri actor Cymreig neu wedi’u sefydlu yng Nghymru : Francois Pandolfo fel Jackie, Alexandria Riley fel Veronica a Kyle Lima fel Cefnder Julio. Bydd Alexandria Riley yn gyfarwydd iawn i gynulleidfaoedd Theatr y Sherman am ei phortreadau o Dottie, y wraig cadw tŷ, yn The Cherry Orchard, a Kitty yn How My Light is Spent. Hefyd yn rhan o’r cast y mae Jermaine Dominique yn rhan Ralph a Renee Williams yn rhan Victoria. Artist Cyswllt Theatr y Sherman Kenny Miller fydd yn creu eu cartref pwdr yn Efrog Newydd, gyda Simon Hayes yn gyfrifol am y goleuo a Sam Jones o Iphigenia in Splott gynt yn gyfrifol am y sain.
