The Vagina Monologues Aberystwyth Arts Centre: 9 February / Chwefror

The Vagina Monologues
Aberystwyth Arts Centre: 9 February / Chwefror
Aberystwyth Student’s Union presents ‘The Vagina Monologues’, a play written and designed by American play write, Eve Ensler. In a series of dramatic monologues we hear the experiences of women across the whole of America growing up, coming of age, and discovering themselves as a woman. With monologues describing the horrors of tampon application, and others describing the miracle of birth, audiences will be on the edge of their seats as they are blown away by the honesty and sheer talent of the women involved in creating this performance.

With a cast of 10 incredibly strong and empowered women, Aber SU hope to play a part in the movement to change assault on women. Run as part of the V-Day Campaign, all proceeds from the event will be going to both the spotlight campaign for V-Day and Aberystwyth New Pathways; a charity designed to help survivors of sexual assault and abuse. In the UK alone, nearly half a million people are sexually assaulted every year and 1 in 5 women are expected to experience sexual violence within their lives.

Performed in the Round Studio of the Arts Centre on the 9th of February, prepare to laugh, cry, smile and squirm as you are wowed by the talent, passion and commitment to change showed on stage. It's a night that will stay with you. Tickets are available from Aberystwyth Arts Centre on 01970 62 32 32 or online at www.aberystwythartscentre.co.uk
