Arts and the Assembly Elections: debate at Chapter Arts Centre |

Tuesday 15 April 2003 Chapter Arts Centre Chapter Cinema One 11am - 1pm Representatives of the four main parties - including the current Culture Minister Jenny Randerson - discuss their culture policies and answer questions from the audience.The other panelists will be Owen John Thomas PC, Lorraine Barrett Lab, Paul Williams (Tory candidate for the Rhondda). Will the next administration maintain a Culture Committee and Culture Minister? How much money will they invest in 2008 if Cardiff is successful? Is a National Theatre a greater priority than the Visual Arts? How will Assembly policies benefit individual artists? What role should the WDA have in the cultural industries? What is the future relationship between the Arts Council and the Assembly? Should the Assembly directly fund arts organisations or should that role be left to the Arts Council? This event is supported by WAPA, PAG, VAGW and sponsored by Chapter. |
