Join us for a night celebrating fundraiser, philanthropist and force behind future stars, Alex Frith, at Swansea Grand Theatre on Wed 4 Apr at 7.30pm.Swansea legend Alex Frith was best known for raising over £280,000 for local charities and kick-starting some of the city’s most famous platforms for discovering and nurturing young talent. She worked closely with Swansea Grand Theatre to bring The Bumbles of Mumbles to life every year, and The Best Is Yet To Come, an opportunity for young people to show their talent. By the time of her death in 2017, the charismatic and much-loved Alex had touched thousands of lives, received an MBE from Prince Charles, and been granted an honorary fellowship from Swansea Metropolitan alongside Michael Sheen. Her stories and characters will be remembered by generations to come. Join us for an evening to celebrate Alex and continue the legacy she began, putting children at centre stage. This fun-filled night promises a host of local talent from Acting Up Youth Theatre Company, Raie Copp Dance Academy, Maria Evans Academy of Dance, Hazel Johnson School of Dance, Joan Williams Stage School, Rachael Smith Academy, West Street Acrobatics Squad, Natalie Salter’s Dance Company and Shirley Rees School of Dance among others. In addition, guests can expect appearances from some of those who ‘made it’ thanks to Alex’s support, including Stefan Pejic, Michael Rees, Vicki Randall, Michael Riseley and Leilah Hughes. All funds from the event will be donated to Alex’s favourite charities. Tickets are available at our Box Office on 01792 475715 or online at www.swanseagrand.co.uk for £10.50 - £15.50*. *All tickets include a 50p Restoration Fund contribution.
