SHERMAN THEATRE RETURNS TO BRITS OFF-BROADWAY FESTIVAL IN NEW YORK WITH BRAD BIRCH’S TREMOR BEFORE TAKING IT TO EDINBURGH FESTIVAL FRINGE Brad Birch’s major new play Tremor will be seen by audiences internationally and across the UK this summer. Finishing its run in Cardiff on 5 May, the play then travels to New York where it will be presented at 59E59 Theatre as part of its established Brits Off-Broadway season (15 May – 10 Jun). It will then return to Wales, playing at Paines Plough’s Roundabout at Theatr Clwyd, Mold from 3 – 7 Jul before heading to Edinburgh as part of the Festival Fringe from 2 - 26 Aug.

Following the international success of Iphigenia in Splott, and the Olivier Award Winning Killology, Sherman Theatre continues to reinforce its commitment to showcase Welsh writers on the national and international stage by taking Tremor to New York and the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

Sherman Theatre’s Artistic Director Rachel O’Riordan says “Tremor is a bold and exciting new play by Welsh playwright Brad Birch. Sherman is a theatre with a commitment to making new work, and we are especially proud when we present a new play by a writer from Wales. We are delighted to be bringing Brad’s play to both the Brits Off-Broadway festival, to Paines Plough’s Roundabout season at Theatr Clywd and then at Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Welsh work on the world stage is a key part of Sherman Theatre’s story, thrilling audiences both at home in Cardiff and internationally.”

Tremor stars Lisa Diveney (Green Green Grass) and Paul Rattray (Jamestown, Game of Thrones) who play Sophie and Tom, a couple torn apart in the aftermath of tragedy. Coming face to face four years on, the realisation hits that trauma can not only tear you apart, it can change you forever.
Tremor is at Sherman Theatre from 12 Apr – 5 May, 59E59 Theaters, New York 15 May – 10 Jun, Theatr Clwyd, Mold 3 – 7 Jul and at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe from 2 – 26 Aug.
