ABERYSTWYTH ARTS CENTREThe EYE Festival5- 7 October / Hydref |
The EYE Festival is returning for its fourth year with another fantastic programme of speakers, exhibitions, activities and networking. Two packed days of photography will take place from Friday 5th – Sunday 7th October 2018 at Aberystwyth Arts Centre.Founded by photographers for photographers and those who appreciate all forms of photography, The EYE Festival is now one of the UK’s biggest photographic gatherings. It is the ideal opportunity to hear presentations by leading photographers and see work on display in several on-site exhibitions. Once again the festival will include a diverse mix of talent working in different genres of photography as EYE Festival speakers so there’s sure to be something of interest for everyone. The speaker programme over the weekend has always been the big talking point amongst attendees of past EYE festivals and for 2018 the programme includes the much respected UK street portrait photographer Niall McDiarmid (now showing at The Martin Parr Foundation in Bristol), cultural documentary master and VII Agency member Jocelyn Bain Hogg, award winning photojournalists Danilo Balducci and Kate Holt, wet-plate photographer Kasia Wozniak, photo editor Neil Bennett from Australia, and artist/photographer Helen Marshall. There will be ample opportunity to meet and chat with the speakers over the Festival weekend. Tickets are available from the Arts Centre’s Box Office on 01970 62 32 32 or online at www.aberyswythartscentre.co.uk. Discounts for concessions and students are also available. “the best photography festival in the UK” — DAVID HURN Image Credit: Niall McDiarmid |
