CYHOEDDI CAST CYNHYRCHIAD THEATR Y SHERMAN O FEL ANIFAIL GAN MEIC POVEY

CYHOEDDI CAST CYNHYRCHIAD THEATR Y SHERMAN O FEL ANIFAIL GAN MEIC POVEY
Mae’n bleser gan Theatr y Sherman gyflwyno ei chynhyrchiad newydd o’r campwaith Fel Anifail o 11 – 20 Hydref.

Sêr y cynhyrchiad newydd ac angenrheidiol hwn o ddrama Meic Povey yw’r actorion Wyn Bowen Harries (All But Gone, The Other Room) a Morfudd Hughes (Porc Peis Bach, Theatr Bara Caws). Am dros ddeugain mlynedd, gweithiodd Wyn Bowen Harries ym myd theatr a theledu drwy gyfrwng y Gymraeg yn bennaf, gan chwarae sawl rôl ar lwyfan a’r sgrîn fach. Ymddangosodd Morfudd Hughes, a raddiodd o Goleg Brenhinol Cerdd a Drama Cymru, mewn sioeau teledu poblogaidd fel C’mon Midffîld, Rownd a Rownd a Tipyn o Stad, a pherfformiodd ar lwyfan gyda sawl cwmni theatr Cymraeg, gan gynnwys Theatr Bara Caws a Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru.

Wedi’i hysgrifennu gan un o ddramodwyr pwysicaf Cymru, Meic Povey, mae’r ddrama’n adrodd stori Defi a Mair. Ar ôl treulio’u bywydau yn yr un ffermdy, ar yr un mynydd, daw’r amser i wynebu’r syniad o symud ymlaen. Mae meddyliau’n troi at straeon o’r blynyddoedd a fu, at blant nad ydynt bellach o gwmpas a’r cyfrinachau maent wedi’u cadw.

Cyfarwyddwr y cynhyrchiad newydd sbon hwn, a gymeradwyodd y dramodydd cyn ei farwolaeth llynedd, yw Jac Ifan Moore. Jac oedd Cyfarwyddwr Cynorthwyol JMK cyntaf Theatr y Sherman, yn cynorthwyo’r Cyfarwyddwr Artistig Rachel O’Riordan ar A Doll’s House a The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. Aeth ymlaen i gyfarwyddo cynhyrchiad Theatr Ieuenctid Sherman o Citizenship fel rhan o Ŵyl NT Connections 2016, a World Domination gan Lesley Hart. Jac yw un hanner o Gwmni Preswyl cyfredol Theatr y Sherman, PowderHouse.

Mae hon yn gynhyrchiad Cymraeg ei hiaith. Gall siaradwyr di-Gymraeg a dysgwyr ddilyn y ddrama drwy uwchdeitlau Saesneg yn y perfformiadau i gyd.

CASTING ANNOUNCED FOR SHERMAN THEATRE’S PRODUCTION OF FEL ANIFAIL BY MEIC POVEY

Sherman Theatre are proud to present their new production of a masterpiece of Welsh language theatre Fel Anifail from 11 – 20 Oct.

This new and necessary production of Meic Povey’s play stars Welsh actors Wyn Bowen Harries (All But Gone, The Other Room) and Morfudd Hughes (Porc Peis Bach, Theatr Bara Caws). Wyn Bowen Harries has worked mainly in Welsh language theatre and television for the last forty years, playing many roles both on stage and in television. Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama graduate Morfudd Hughes has starred in popular Welsh language television shows such as C’mon Midffîld, Rownd a Rownd and Tipyn o Stâd, and performed on stage with many Welsh theatre companies such as Theatr Bara Caws and Theatre Genedlaethol Cymru.

Written by one of the most important writers Wales has ever produced, Meic Povey, this play tells the story of Defi and Mair. Having spent their whole lives living at the same farm house on the same mountain, the time comes where they have to face the prospect of moving on. Thoughts turn to stories of years gone by, children who are no longer around and hidden secrets they have kept.

This brand new production, approved by the playwright before his passing last year is directed by Jac Ifan Moore. Jac was the first JMK Assistant Director at Sherman Theatre assisting Artistic Director Rachel O’Riordan on A Doll’s House and The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. He went on to direct Sherman Youth Theatre in Citizenship as part of the NT Connections Festival 2016, and World Domination by Lesley Hart. Jac is one half of Sherman Theatre’s current Company in Residence, PowderHouse.

This is a Welsh language production, non-Welsh speakers and learners can follow the play throughout with English surtitles at all performances.
