Award-Winning Musical set for Asian Premiere in 2019
 Neath-based Theatr na nÓg have been invited to take their hit musical Eye of The Storm to audiences in Hong Kong early next year.

Winner of Best Show for Young Peopleat the 2018 Wales Theatre Awards, Eye of the Stormis set in the Welsh Valleys and tells the story of Emmie, a young carer, who invents an artificial tornado for renewable energy. The hit show boasts a toe-tapping soundtrack written by the prolific and hugely talented songwriter Amy Wadge, best known for her Grammy Award winning song Thinking Out Loud(co-written with Ed Sheeran) and recent BAFTA Award for her music in hit TV series Keeping Faith.

Garnering rave reviews following a seven-week run in Swansea’s Dylan Thomas Theatre and Taliesin Arts Centre, which played to over 5500young people and adults, Theatr na nÓg’s Eye of The Stormwas handpicked to be showcased at Hong Kong’s SPARK Festival, celebrating the ‘Science and Art of Creativity’. SPARK Festival is the first British Council Festival of Ideasand falls hot on the heels of the 70thAnniversary of the British Council in Hong Kong in 2018.

This trip marks the third in a series of international expeditions made by this adventurous company of Welsh theatre-makers, following performances of You Should Ask Wallacein Singapore and Rio de Janeiro.

Eye of the Stormwill be performed at Tai Kwun, Hong Kong’s centre for heritage and arts between 18 – 20 January 2019.
