Llyn y fan, The Lady of the Lake. One of Wales’ most popular myths and a universal story of love and loss. Now a full-length ballet from the critically acclaimed company Independent Ballet Wales (formally Cwmni Ballet Gwent), showing at the Torch Theatre on Tuesday 17 June at 7:30pm.

“In the valley of myddfai in the heart of the black mountains lived Rhiwalon. On hos way to the little lake of Llyn y fan he saw a beautiful lady sitting on a smooth surface of the water coming her long golden hair….”

So begins this sweeping and ageless tale kept alive by generations of storytellers and minstrels. Independent Ballet Wales bring this classic folk tale to life mixing explosive dance and classical ballet in a truly unforgettable evening.

With original choreography from Darius James, the company’s Artistic Director, impeccably trained dancers and stunning new costumes by welsh designer Yvonne Greenleaf.
