A pair of star-crossed lovers take their life

Bydd cwmni buddugol Gwobr Cylch y Beirniaid, Ballet Cymru, yn cyflwyno addasiad eithriadol o gampwaith Shakespeare, "Romeo and Juliet", ar Ragfyr 4ydd yng Nghanolfan y Celfyddydau Aberystwyth.

Mae ymladd dwys, deuawdau angerddol a themâu cyffredinol yn atseinio trwy goreograffi dramatig a thelynegol. Mae'r gwisgoedd cywrain a'r tafluniadau fideo eithriadol yn creu byd o berygl a chyffro, lle caiff dau gariad ifanc eu dal mewn hen elyniaeth.

Mae "Romeo and Juliet" yn gydweithrediad dynamig ac unigryw rhwng tri o sefydliadau celfyddydau amlwg Cymru, Ballet Cymru, Coreo Cymru (Cynhyrchydd Creadigol ar gyfer Dawns yng Nghymru www.coreocymru.com) a Theatr Glan-yr-afon yng Nghasnewydd (www.newportlive.co.uk/riverfront)

Mae "Romeo a Juliet" yn cynnwys gwisgoedd gan Georg Meyer-Wiel (www.meyerwiel.com) a astudiodd yn y Coleg Celf Brenhinol, ac sydd wedi creu gwisgoedd ar gyfer rhai o gwmnïau blaenllaw'r byd, gan gynnwys Rambert Dance Company ac Australian Dance Theatre.

A pair of star-crossed lovers take their life

Critics’ Circle Award winning company, Ballet Cymru, present an extraordinary adaptation of Shakespeare’s masterpiece “Romeo and Juliet” at Aberystwyth Arts Centre on December 4th.

Intense fighting, passionate duets and universal themes echo through dramatic and lyrical choreography. Exquisite costumes and extraordinary video projections create a world of danger and excitement where two young lovers are caught in an age old feud.

“Romeo a Juliet” is a dynamic and unique collaboration between 3 of Wales’ outstanding arts organisations, Ballet Cymru, Coreo Cymru (Creative Producer for Dance in Wales www.coreocymru.com) and The Riverfront in Newport (www.newportlive.co.uk/riverfront)

"Romeo a Juliet" features costumes by Georg Meyer-Wiel (www.meyerwiel.com) who studied at The Royal College of Art and has created costumes for some of the world’s leading companies, including Rambert Dance Company and Australian Dance Theatre.
