Established in 1996, Venue 13 is small studio theatre at the bottom of the Royal Mile in Edinburgh's Old Town. The venue exists only during the month of August as part of the Fringe and other festivals. As a collaboration between the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, the venue has a dual "personality"; half of the productions come from the RSAMD's Masters of Drama programme while the other half is a showcase for Welsh or Wales based talent. The venue is managed by students from the Stage Management courses at RWCMD. They coordinate all elements of the stage and technical management and run the box office and front of house facilities. For the students of the Post Graduate Diploma in Stage Management, this is part of their course while other students from the undergraduate degree spend the month in Edinburgh as an optional extra to their training, gaining additional experience and valued professional contacts. For the 2003 season, Venue 13 will host the following shows:- Art Crime Face the Wall Little Bottom's Extraordinary Circus Loose Tongues Love, Sex and Cider Mr Kolpert Rameo and Eweliet Seconds Out Sex The Lost Ones The Same Boat For further information about Venue 13, please contact:- Dave Roxburgh Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama Tel - (029) 2039 1345 |
