'Time Was When...'     

The culmination of this year's Pembrokeshire Summer Drama Scheme is a devised piece exploring thirty young people's concept of the theme of heritage/etifeddiaeth in the 'land of brown road signs'. For 3 weeks during the long, hot Summer, these 30 talented young people have been slogging away, exploring conceptual notions, learning theatrical techniques for performance and production and endeavouring to answer such abstract questions as - "What skeletons lie in the cupboards of collective memory? What dreamscapes does the past throw up?"

'Time Was When ...' people looked for the Wales amidst the 'fridge section of the local tip!

Exploding on to the Torch Theatre stage on Thursday 4 - Saturday 6 September at 7.30pm, this fierce home-grown piece delves into the mystical realms of a glorified heritage. Splicing Celts with teen escapades in Becketian strategy, the cast comment on how young people relate to 'the green, green grass of home'. Created by the participants, 'Time Was When...' paints vivid dreams under a sinking sun. Delicate apparations haunt bedraggled vagabonds, leaving the audience wading in a sea of ambiguity, unsure of just who is haunting whom...
