Torch Theatre's new season goes into rehearsal

The award-winning Torch Theatre’s 2003/4 season opens with John Steinbeck’s ‘Of Mice and Men’. Directed by Peter Doran, designed by Sean Crowley and with original music by James Crisp, the production opens on Wednesday 15 October and runs until Saturday 1 November.
Many cast members appeared in last year’s award-winning 25th anniversary production of ‘One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest’ (Tim Perrin, Richard Nichols & Keith Woodason) and the production team is the same.

Owen Garmon played Davies in The Torch Theatre Company’s production and tour of ‘The Caretaker’ directed by Dave Bond in Spring 2002.

Set against the backdrop of America’s Great Depression, George and simple-minded Lennie are two itinerant farm workers determined to buy a smallholding of their own after years of eking out a living. The two friends soon discover the flipside of their American Dream and the friendship is tested to the limits. Of Mice and Men is an extraordinary tale of the loyalty and dreams of two ordinary men. It is one of the classic stories of the 20th century - written and adapted for stage by America's greatest novelist, and Nobel Prize winner John Steinbeck.
