UK Street Arts : The Next Step Forward

UK Street Arts: The Next Step Forward is a 2 day conference produced by the Independent Street Arts Network (ISAN) Liverpool and is aimed at promoters and presenters of street arts.

The conference will explore the development of larger scale UK street arts and the role of promoters in nurturing and contributing creativity to that development.

UK Street Arts will take place on the 13th and 14th of November 2003 and the event is £85 +VAT for ISAN members and £130 +VAT for all others. Accommodation is available at a discounted price by contacting ISAN.

The conference will address the issues surrounding presenting large scale work and working with the artists to support the creation of quality UK produced work of scale. There will also be presentations form keynote speakers including Manuel Vilanova (Xarxa Teatre, Spain), Angus Farquhar (nva organisation Scotland) and Liz Pugh (Walk the Plank).

The content of the conference will be weighted towards the promoter’s role in production, including the commissioning process and creation models where delegates can explore the creative possibilities of their role.

A special feature of the conference will be a focused networking 'Ideas Summit' session on the 2nd day, which will bring together delegates and artists to share plans and opportunities for future creative partnerships.
