LabCulture Residency Programme

PVA MediaLab is currently accepting submissions for the LabCulture Residency Programme. The intensive, week long labs offer artists a chance to engage with new tools and work within a critical environment, while focusing on production of new material and time out from regular work. They are fully residential, offering research and development time over one week. Artists have time to experiment with new ways of working, to research or take an idea further, or to pursue their creative process without the pressure of having to realise a final outcome. Artists will be given tuition in relevant tools, provided by experienced new media practitioners and artist facilitators.

The programme is developed through partnerships with UK arts organisations and aims to stimulate diverse practice and collaboration. The residencies are open to UK based artists and creatives operating across the cultural industries spectrum whose work pushes the boundaries of contemporary artistic practice. Applications are also welcome from musicians, writers, dancers and innovative artists beyond categorisation and all spaces in between. Applications must be received no later than 5:00 pm on Friday 30 January, 2004.

Residencies include full board, but do not cover travel to and from the host venue. There are no fees payable for these labs. Lab venues include: ArtSway, Vivid, IDAT, ISIS Arts, Peterborough Digital Arts and PVA MediaLab. For an artist's impression of LabCulture, visit: <>.
