Creative Clusters is a conference and network for people working in creative industries development. The second Creative Clusters Conference will take place in Brighton from 28th April - 1st May 2004, and proposals are currently being accepted for presentations to be delivered at the conference. There is particular interest in regeneration and development projects that deliver outcomes in both cultural and economic terms. The themes for the conference are: A Sense of Place: Cultural Tourism and Cultural Industry; Social Inclusion & the Rise of the Creative Class; European Enlargement: Implications for Creative Business; Cultural Value and Economic Value; Asia-Pacific Creative Industries; and Financing Creativity. Conference organisers are also looking for case studies relating to: *Area and sector development agencies *Cultural quarters and cluster projects *Advocacy and reputation-building initiatives *Business support, incubators and managed workspaces *Networking and resource-sharing projects *Projects for young people *Mentoring, training, education and professional development programmes *Investment, funding and commissioning schemes *Partnership brokering and building *Vision and strategy formulation *Research and data collection *Venue and exhibition spaces *Marketing, distribution and sales support programmes Submissions are invited from those who have been involved in groundbreaking projects from around the world and those with compelling contributions to be made to policy development. Deadline for submissions is 28th December 2003. |
