The Centre for Performance Research, in association with the Scenography Department within Theatre, Film & Television Studies, University of Wales, Aberystwyth, is hosting a symposium entitled ‘CRAIG & APPIA: Sculptors of the Modern Stage - Light/ Shadow/ Architecture’ from 5th - 7th December 2003 at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth. The practitioner friendly conference will trace the impact and legacy of two of the key theatre makers of the early 20th Century - Edward Gordon Craig and Adolphe Appia. Scholars and practitioners from throughout Europe will make contributions tracing the developments originating in the work of these artists and their revolutionary ideas that transformed the concept of the stage. Prices for the event are: Full-time waged - £130 (£120 members of CPR), Part-time/ Practitioner - £95 (£85 members), and Student/Unwaged - £45 (£40 members).
