New Grants  – Cultural Cooperation and  Touring (CCAT)

Cultural Co-operation and Touring (CCAT), Aberystwyth Arts Centre (Wales) & Temple Bar (Dublin), have announced details of a new initiative aimed at developing relationships between cultural practitioners on both sides of the Irish Sea and raising the profile of the Welsh and Irish arts both at home and internationally. The initiative is planned to run until the end of 2006. The programme is part of the INTERREG initiative of the European Union, to strengthen economic and social cohesion by promoting cross-border, transnational and interregional cooperation.

What is the funding for?
CCAT will provide support for professional arts organisations and individuals for performing arts tours, touring exhibitions, co-productions and networking events, as well as advice, practical assistance and grants to improve opportunities for collaboration and touring within the INTERREG regions of Ireland and Wales (as defined by the EU - includes the west coast of Wales - Anglesey, Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Conwy, Gwynedd, Pembrokeshire, Ynys Môn and Denbighshire).
Who can apply?
Applications are invited from arts organisations who work in dance, interdisciplinary work, literature, multi-media work, music, theatre and visual art. CCAT would like to particularly like to see applications for co-productions in the INTERREG regions in 2005 and 2006. ‘Go see’ awards are also available, to assist in developing relationships between practitioners and presenters. Work may be presented in Welsh, Irish, English, or any combination of these languages.
