Call for Submissions (Broadcast/Dance)

'Dance Film Academy' - a new collaboration between the BBC, Arts Council England, and the Scottish Arts Council - is looking for directors and choreographers who have experience working in dance for camera for a new project. The project involves a two week residency, during which, five teams of directors, choreographers and composers will develop a pitch for a 30-minute dance film for television. At the end of the two weeks one of the teams will be awarded a production prize of around £100,000 to make their film. The residency will also include a series of masterclasses. The whole process will be filmed for a 60-minute documentary to be aired on BBC4, which will be followed by the winning film.

The deadline for applications is 2nd February 2004. The residency will take place in August/September at a yet-to-be confirmed location in Wales.
