Interact, in association with Meridian Theatre Company, has announced a new round of theatre grants. Applications are currently being accepted from UK-based not-for-profit theatre companies for one grant worth £20,000 and two grants worth £10,000, for a total of £40,000 in grants to be distributed. Meridian’s board of trustees, who will be judging the applications, are looking to support new productions demonstrating fresh creativity and imagination. Applicants should be able to demonstrate how the grant will make a significant difference to their production/tour. Applications are welcomed from theatre companies which are: not-for-profit companies, registered as limited by guarantee or with charitable status; and committed to Equity contract rates within the production budget and employee fees. Previous recipients have used the grants for such things as: making theatre more accessible to people with disabilities; innovative touring ideas; and supporting international collaboration.
