'The Art of Leadership’ is a conference which is intended to stimulate thinking, develop understanding, and share concerns, ideas and strategies relating to leadership in the arts. The conference is aimed at artists, arts managers, board members, arts development officers, arts funders, politicians and decision-makers, and will be held at the Midlands Arts Centre (mac) in Birmingham on 24th February 2004. The day will include speeches relating to leadership and people, leadership and organisations, and leadership; in the arts and cultural industries; a debate; and workshops focusing on developing participants’ own skills and needs in order to shape the development of the sector. Keynote speakers are: Chris Smith MP; Derek Purnell (Birmingham Royal Ballet); Gill Gill (B Arts); and Venu Dhupa. Tickets are £125.
