Venue 3 Sherman Theatre news

Venue 3 Sherman Theatre news I'm just dropping you a line to let you know about the exciting season we've
got lined up for Venue 3, the Sherman's experimental performance space this
Spring. We've got a number of rehearsed readings and showcases of new work
in store over the next couple of months, so you should find something that
tickles your fancy.
This Friday 30th January we've got "Mind You...I've Had Some Hidings" by
Scott Fitzgerald. Join Scott as he tells his true story of unadulterated,
uninhibited indulgence! Once upon a time there was a young man who embarked
upon a life in higher education in the hope that he would become an
influential criminal lawyer. Instead, he chose to defraud every major
British bank you'd care to mention and grew tomatoes on the Isle of Sheppey
at Her Majesty's Pleasure. And now.... he's a window cleaner! This comical
look at Scott's unusual life promises to be an interesting journey from
innocence to experience. Tickets are £2.50 and the event starts at 7:30pm.

"Unzipped" continues its series of rehearsed readings of scripts written,
performed and directed by 16 - 35 year olds this Spring, with 4 events
taking place on: 5th February, 19th February, 4th March & 1st April all at
7pm. Tickets for this event are just £1 and give you the chance to see young
talent in action.

Talking of young talent, Act One, Cardiff University's Drama Society are
hosting a rehearsed reading of a new play this season as well. "The Graeme
Connection" will be performed on Thursday 26th & 27th February at 7:30pm.
The play promises a rollercoaster ride of destiny, bravery and pies.

Tickets for all events are available on the door only.

Also this season in Venue 3...
In preparation for Christmas 2004, the Sherman Theatre Company will read
David Wood's adaptation of "Danny, the Champion of the World" for 7 -11 year
olds. There will also be a reading of a brand new play by Mike Kenny based
on the life & stories of Hans Christian Andersen. This will mainly be an
event for teachers but there will be limited availability for public
bookers. Contact Ceri Davies on 029 2064 6901 to reserve your place.

And remember that you can find up to the minute information on Venue 3 and
